THE FRENCH EDUCATION PHiLOSOPHY AND SYSTEM
The French educational system emphasizes the authority of the teacher, individual competition through an absolute grading system, very high academic expectation and stress is placed on analytical thought and rote learning as opposed to creativity.
Sports are sometimes played at school but most often is played at clubs and associations outside of the school environment.
There are both state run and private schools at all level of the education needs and the curriculum is dictated by the Ministry of Education and is the same throughout the country.

Some schools offer bilingual education but more often than not, comprehensive bilingual education is only provided in private schools and usually only in the big cities.

FRANCE TAXES



France has much the same taxes (e.g. income tax, capital gains tax, property tax) as other countries. 


In most English-speaking countries (e.g. UK, USA, Canada) income tax and social taxes are calculated on an individual basis. In France, they are calculated on a family basis. In simple terms the income for all family members is added up and then divided by the number of people in the family.


Tax rates in France are different and generally higher than most other countries.There are a number of tax loopholes and exemptions specific to France.
